Here are some great tips for Dad immediately after your baby is born:
A big kiss once baby is born to tell mum how fantastic she is. Take photos or film your new born as these moments pass very quickly and it is great to capture those first minutes. Once mum has had a cuddle you should be the next in line to cuddle your newborn. Take your time and enjoy holding your newborn. This may be the first time you have held a tiny baby and so try to relax. Help to dress your baby. You will need a nappy, a vest and a sleepsuit. Help mum! This may be passing her some wipes from her hospital bag or helping her to the bathroom. Whatever she needs be on hand to help out. Phone or text friends and relatives to let them know that baby is here and an update on how mum is doing. Make sure your partner has everything she needs this may include a drink and a snack, toiletries, her phone.
