From not really knowing what a baby shower is here in the UK, they have all of a sudden become a real trend and the ‘must have’ party as we read about Kim Kardashian having her Beverly Hills  style baby shower plus all the talk about Pippa Middleton planning the first ever Royal baby shower for her sister Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
And we can read all about baby showers in Hello magazine as written by Natalie Anderson.  She comments how she is thrilled to be hosting her friends baby shower and has decided to opt for an Arabian Princess, tea party theme.  Natalie is  planning on cake stands filled with cupcakes, Turkish delights and mini macaroons and lots of pretty flowers, lanterns, cushions, and mint tea.

Natalie writes how she is finding it much easier to source things now as baby showers have become so much more popular. She had a wild safari baby shower just before having  Freddie last year and it was amazing.

Natalie continues to write,  We’ve got some great games to play too such as “Guess the size of the bump”, “Who knows mummy best” and one of my favourites “Who this little one?” I like this one as its a great game to get people talking and reminiscing about their own childhood. It basically involves each guest bringing along a picture of themselves as a child and depositing it into a secret box, the host then numbers each picture and places them around the venue, the guests then have to guess which picture belongs to which person….I loved seeing the ones of my grandma and mum!

It has always been a question – should men attend baby showers?  The fact is  that baby showers for men are becoming more popular lately, even though the original tradition was for the girls only to get together for a shower.

But will this be the case when Kim Kardashian has her own baby shower?  As far as we know, rapper Kanye West has always been a rather private fella.  He doesn’t seem to like all the cameras that follow and surround his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian and likes to stay as far away as possible from Keeping Up With The Kardashians. He doesn’t appear in the upcoming new season promo photos and doesn’t want his personal life out there for the public scrutiny.  It appears that Kim has convinced him to appear at the taped baby shower for the show.  We’ve learned that Kanye may only be staying for ten to fifteen minutes, as he will be the only guy in attendance.

So, right or wrong here or a few suggestions if you are thinking of inviting the guys along.  Have the baby shower party at a sports bar, favourite restaurant, go bowling, to your favourite golf  course, or at a favourite concert. You don’t have to be traditional to have a baby shower, have some fun and live it up while the father-to-be is still getting at least some sleep before the little one comes.
