Identical Triplets Born Naturally

A New Mum has defied odds of 200 million to one by having identical triplets naturally.

BABY2_1718786aChantel Pinchon, 20, was thrilled when she gave birth to her 3 baby girls  Rose, Lexi and Ruby just two minutes apart.

She and fiancé Lewis Reddie, 24, now have FOUR babies under one — the triplet girls and their son Michael who is only nine months old.

Shop worker Chantel said: “It was a huge shock, especially as the pregnancy wasn’t planned.

“But I feel so lucky now they’re all here and healthy. We keep getting asked if it was through IVF, but it wasn’t.”  it all happened so naturally.

Chantal gave birth by Caesarean section at Great Western Hospital, Swindon, Wilts.

First came Rose weighing 4lb 2oz, followed by Lexi at 2lb 13oz and Ruby at 4lb 1oz.  Because they were born seven weeks premature they are being looked after in a special care unit until they are well enough to go home.

Army reservist Lewis said: “You really can’t tell them apart, although Lexi seems to fidget the most.”

The couple will need to buy a huge 6,000 nappies in the next year which led Lewis to say:  “I’ll be doing my fair share of the changing.”  Looks like Chantal and Lewis are going to be somewhat busy for the next few years and certainly will have their hands full when they all go home!

Stacey thanks Spinach for her Baby Weight Loss

Stacey Solomon bounced back to her slim figure within weeks of giving birth to her second child, Leighton.  And now she has revealed it was down to spinach that she lost weight so quickly.  The former X Factor star, 22, said she eats the iron-rich vegetable daily and she believes it holds the secret to regaining her size 8-10 figure after having a new baby.

Stacey claims ‘I love spinach. I really crave it and eat it nearly every day, so that’s really helped with losing my baby weight. Anything green and I’ll wolf it down.’  She admitted she was stunned by how quickly she had shifted the pounds because she had struggled to lose weight after the birth of her first son Zachary.

So can spinach really help with shifting those extra pounds after having a baby?  Well we are not saying that eating spinach does lead to weight loss, but it is certainly rich in iron, which is a very important mineral for our bodies.

Iron is an essential mineral many people know little about. It is a part of the blood cells in the body. The main function of iron is to help carry oxygen from the lungs to the muscles and other organs. About 30% of the body’s supply of iron is in storage, ready to be replaced if any is lost. When iron is low, this oxygen consumption slows down.

There are several select groups of people that are more at risk for developing iron deficiencies. First, women are more likely to develop this problem, partly because of the loss of red blood cells during menstruation. Also, pregnant women need to be sure to consume enough iron.

Other foods that are rich in iron include sardines, tuna, liver, broccoli, asparagus, pumpkin, lamb and egg yolks.  So as you can see it’s not just your greens!!

Dirty Nappy (Sniff and Lick) Game

Looking for a fun game to play at your baby shower that will have all your guests laughing?  Well, here is your answer – The Dirty Nappy Game.  Or as named the Sniff & Lick Game by Coleen Rooney when she was interviewed by fashion expert Mark Heyes on ITV’s Lorraine programme.  Coleen was asked about her recent baby shower and commented how much fun this game was which her friends bought from Shower My Baby.

An unusual but fun & popular ‘sniff and lick’ baby shower game guaranteed to have your guests laughing as you try to guess contents of a nappy.

Basically smear items such as chocolate spread, horseradish, salad dressing, mustard, relishes, melted chocolates or anything with a strong or unusual smell into the disposable nappies.  Blind folded guests are then asked to smell the nappy and if required touch and taste its contents to guess what it is.  The guest who guesses the most nappies correctly wins.

We provide you with 5 new born clean white disposable nappies, which are presented tied with satin ribbon. You will also receive 2 Personalised Prize labels with ribbon for game prizes plus Instructions for the game.  A blindfold mask is also included.

Great value at £4.49.

Jenna’s Waters Break at her Baby Shower

We’ve heard lots of stories about women going into labour at inopportune times such as whilst doing the weekly shop, on a long car journey miles from anywhere, in the middle of a speech or presentation so why not add at your own baby shower party to this list?

And this is exactly how it happened for Jenna Bush Hager.  It happened on April 13th during her baby shower.  Jenna wasn’t expecting to go into labour as she had still 3 more weeks until her due date, but as she began to open her gifts she began to sweat and in front of all her friends, her waters broke and she proceeded to go into labour 3 weeks earlier than expected.

Jenna gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who weighed 6lbs 15oz and was named Mila.  “I’m totally crazy about her,” she said by phone from her New York apartment, where Margaret Laura “Mila” Hager is already turning her world around in the way only babies can. “I don’t even really like the colour pink, and there’s pink all over my apartment. I like things to be really neat, and there’s bottles and things all over, and we’re just as happy as can be.”

So Jenna came away from her baby shower with a truly magnificent gift that she certainly wasn’t expecting!!

Taking Folic Acid During Pregnancy

Have you ever asked the question what do almonds, cottage cheese, oatmeal, figs and bananas all have in common?

These are just some of the VERY IMPORTANT food items that may just prevent you from miscarrying as they contain a very important vitamin.

What is this vitamin?  It Is Folic Acid

When we think about pregnancy we think about folic acid. But do you really know if you’re getting enough? And why it’s really important?

During pregnancy the body’s requirement for Folic Acid DOUBLES. And a deficiency in folic acid has been shown to cause neural tube defects such as spina bifida and low birth weight.

Folic acid supplementation has been shown to reduce the potential risk of Downs Syndrome, and gestational hypertension AND spontaneous miscarriage.

To protect yourself from these things, it’s important to get proper supplementation AND eat foods rich in folic acid as outlined below.

Most importantly, it’s CRITICAL to do the following…

1) DO NOT COOK AT HIGH TEMPERATURES
2) DO NOT FREEZE YOUR FOOD TOO OFTEN
3) DRINK TOO MUCH WATER!!!

When food is cooked at high temperature, the Folic Acid content is destroyed. And although the daily requirement for water increases during pregnancy, too high or excessive consumption water will facilitate increased loss of Folic Acid as will freezing foods.

Main Food Sources for Natural Folic Acid are:

  • organic cottage cheese
  • organic egg yolk
  • wild salmon
  • figs, ripe bananas, dates, ripe pineapple (including the stem), blackberries, loganberries, cantaloupe & watermelon
  • wheat germ, rye, oatmeal & barley
  • beef & beef liver, organic chicken & chicken liver
  • kidney beans, navy beans, lentils, lima beans, chickpeas, mung beans, split peas & soya beans
  • almonds, pecan, walnuts & coconut
  • avocado, cabbage, green beans, kale, broccoli, corn, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower,  mushrooms, watercress & leeks.
