Pregnancy cravings are urges to eat something that you may not have eaten before. Here is a list of the most common pregnancy cravings: Spicy foods, Sweet things, Dairy foods, Fruits that are sour and Salty snacks. It is possible that the craving is actually a reminder that you should include more of something in your daily diet. You might be craving the saltiness of crisps which may indicate that you are lacking in sodium as your body needs more than usual during the pregnancy. Some mums can develop a craving for non foods products like coal, ice, or mud. This is also known as pica and the reason pregnant mums crave this is unknown. It has been suggested that these cravings are linked to an iron or calcium deficiency or perhaps it is your body trying to find cures for nausea. Usually the food cravings become less as the pregnancy progresses. It is still important throughout the entire pregnancy to eat a balanced diet and good nutritional meals.
