The family of a toddler Hope are hoping she will see for the first time after a local community managed tp raise money for her to undergo pioneering eye treatment in China.

Two-year-old Brooke Chilton was born with under-developed optic nerves – too tiny to ever let in light.

The rare condition, called optic nerve hypoplasia, affects less than one in 10,000 people in the UK.

In China, the youngster will be injected with stem cells from the umbilical cords of newborn babies to help stimulate the regrowth of her stunted nerves.

Thanks to fundraisers in her hometown of Milton Keynes, Bucks, Brooke’s family now have enough money to pay for the first stage of little Brooke’s treatment.

The Brooke Chilton Fund has reached its halfway target of £25,000, meaning the youngster’s mum Leah can now begin planning their trip overseas.

The Saturdays are in full swing organising a baby shower for bandmate Rochelle Humes. Meanwhile Rochelle and hubby, JLS member Marvin Humes, have been spotted baby clothes shopping. They bought two big bags full of baby items at a store in Watford, but kept onlookers guessing by buying both pink and blue outfits!

Elton John express his sheer delight as he announced the birth of his second child. Elton John has named baby number 2 Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John. Elijah will play younger brother to Zachary whom turned 2 last christmas. He was born on Friday in Los Angeles via a surrogate mum, the same women that gave birth to zachary, weighing 8lb 4oz. Elton stated ”Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable.”

A mother defied odds of more than 130,000-1 to give birth to her second Christmas Daughter. Hamima Juma, from coventry, gave birth to her first daughter Maheera on December 25,2009. Her latest arrival, as yet unnamed, appeared on Tuesday. Mrs Juma said: ”I was praying for another Christmas baby. It’s brilliant”

Lily Allen is reportedly expecting again with hubby Sam Cooper, just six months after giving birth to baby Ethel.

The 27-year-old singer, who has previously had a miscarriage and a stillbirth, is said to be “thrilled’ at the prospect of welcoming another child into their family” according to various national press websites.

A source is quoted as saying: “Lily has started telling her friends and everybody in her close circle is so excited for her.’

‘It was a surprise but Lily and Sam are thrilled. The pair of them have loved every minute of parenthood so far and wanted to expand their brood quickly. So it’s great timing.’
