Adele is Pregnant!
ADELE, who announced her pregnancy just one week ago, has been inundated with good wishes from fans and the famous.
Celebrities both here and in the states have sent their good wishes – including Beyonce and Jay-Z – and many took to Twitter to congratulate the singer and her charity boss boyfriend Simon Konecki.
Lilly Cooper [Allen] wrote: “Wow. Adeles preggers ! Congratumalations to her and Simon!”
American chat show host Ellen DeGeneres posted: “@OfficialAdele is pregnant! I’m so happy, I’m rolling in the deep! At least I think I am. I’m still not 100% sure what it means.”
While Lady Gaga congratulated the singer but tweeted: “Anyone hear the sigh of relief emitted by popstars worldwide when Adele announced her pregnancy?
A friend of Adele’s has revealed that the singer is preparing for parenthood by watching re-runs of Supernanny.
She said: “Adele thinks Jo Frost is the business and wants her kids as well behaved as possible.”
Vanessa Lachey is having a boy!
Nick and Vanessa Lachey have confirmed the sex of their first baby.
The couple are expecting their first child, with Vanessa due to give birth in September. The TV host has now revealed she is having a boy.
“It’s a BOY,” Vanessa announced on her website on Wednesday. “Nick and I are incredibly excited to share the news that we are expecting a baby boy. We can’t wait to meet him soon (sic)!!!”
Nick first announced that Vanessa was pregnant while co-hosting US TV show Live! With Kelly earlier this year.
The 31-year-old beauty has coped well with the pregnancy and the pair recently celebrated the impending new arrival by going on a babymoon to St. Lucia.
Vanessa posted a stunning photograph of herself – taken by Nick – earlier this week. She was posing in a bikini by the water as the sun set.
“Let’s embrace our changing bodies!” she wrote on her Twitter page as she encouraged other pregnant women to post pictures too.
Before they found out the sex of the baby, Nick and Vanessa revealed they were having trouble choosing baby names. While they had agreed on some names for a girl, they couldn’t settle on something for a boy.
Will you be breastfeeding?
MUM Myleene Klass this week blasted the “Breastapo” who pressurise women into breastfeeding.
The TV host, 33 – who nurses her baby girl Hero and did the same with firstborn Ava, now three – hit out as a report revealed eight in ten babies are nursed, compared with six in 1990. There is evidence it boosts their health.
But here Myleene argues it is a mother’s right to choose breast or bottle.
I got involved in this debate because there are so many women out there who don’t have a voice.
A lot feel huge pressure to breastfeed even if their circumstances dictate otherwise.
They are made to feel like failures by so-called experts before they’ve even started.
Women are vulnerable after having a baby — your emotions are all over the place and your hormone levels are up and down.
Everyone suddenly has an opinion and thinks they know better than you.
But Mum knows best.
If breastfeeding is not for you and is going to make you feel unhappy, surely that can’t be good for your baby.
I never went to pre-natal classes because it wasn’t for me — you should not feel pressurised.
My daughter Hero is breastfed, as was my firstborn, Ava, for six months.
The flipside is the backlash some women face for breastfeeding in public.
I was discreetly feeding Ava in a coffee shop when a man suggested I went to the toilet to nurse. I told him I would as long as he ate his lunch in there as well.
We need to have confidence to let women make their own choices.
I have friends who had traumatic births and couldn’t breastfeed because of medication they were on, exhaustion and a whole range of issues. But they were made to feel guilty.
Friends of mine in the public eye have felt the need to lie about breastfeeding because of the harsh way they would be judged if they admitted using formula milk.
But how can you judge if a woman is a good mum, based purely on whether or not she bottle-feeds her child? It’s ridiculous.
Come on, girls, let’s stick together. I breastfed but don’t think my way is the only way — it’s up to each mum to decide.
Hopefully, by having this debate, by the time Hero and Ava have children they will feel free to make a choice without the pressure women face today.
